[RESUMEN] ABSTRACT

When a school system begins a program of education with computers, it has an opportunity to make important educational changes, but it will also encounter challenges and obstacles. In this article, a group of High School teachers and two of their technical advisors reflect on the process of launching the new subject of "Applied Computing" in eight public High Schools in the State of Puebla, Mexico. After an introduction to the purpose and preparations for the program, the teachers share some of their observations and experiences.
