The "Universidad Autónoma de Puebla" distinguished Björn Holmgren and Ruth Urbá for their distinguished scientific career and as mentors of generations of future scientists in that university. The ceremony (Jun2/8/98) was the event that launched a weeklong program of conferences by scientists related to the Holmgren-Urbá. Among them I can mention Ramón Latorre (U. de Chile and CECS, Chile), Manuel Roncagliolo (U. de Valparaiso, Chile.) and Miguel Holmgren (Harvard University). Following is the presentation speech by J.
