[RESUMEN]ABSTRACT

Brassica napus presumptive root statocyte protoplasts flown in space were reconstructed based on semi-thin serial sections and morphometrical results were obtained. Based on the three-dimensional reconstruction, it was possible to visualize the three largest organelles within the cells, i.e. the nucleus, the large vacuole occupying most of the volume of the cell and the amyloplasts grouped around the nucleus. This redistribution of the amyloplasts is assumed to be a result of the preparation of the protoplasts, since the same redistribution is shown in protoplasts exposed to micro-g as well as 1g.
