[RESUMEN] ABSTRACT

This article is devoted to a simple but rigorous review of some mechanistic aspects of the synthesis, and structural as well as spectroscopic characterization of systems of interest in Material Science. This article focuses on cubic crystals of the elpasolite type, which show physical and chemical properties attractive from both theoretical and practical reasons. This study emphazises the luminescent properties of these materials and their experimental manifestations.
